In Studio Only

Neurogenic Yoga™ is a revolutionary technique to heal trauma and reduce stress. It combines yoga poses (asana) and breathing (pranayama) with the body’s body’s natural therapeutic shaking response. The human (and animal) nervous system has an instinctual shaking response that is genetically coded to help us discharge long-held tension and trauma. It is an unconscious muscle contraction that restores the body to wholeness after stressful or traumatic events.

Teaching Yoga to an Aging Population with Andrea Peloso

20-hrs of In-Person Instruction

April 4 – 6, 2025

Friday, 5:00 pm (4 hrs)

Saturday, 1:00 pm (7.5 hrs)

Sunday, 9:00 am (8.5 hrs)

The beauty of yoga is that it is ageless. It can be practiced in one way or another throughout our more mature years. But teaching yoga to an aging population can be much different than what is popularly portrayed as yoga asana.
Offering inclusive yoga classes to older adults and seniors requires that you develop an understanding of common challenges they face. Beyond making yoga postures more accessible, it is important to foster an environment that empowers them to honour themselves as they are in this season of their life.
